Staff Senate Minute: December 10, 2003SENATORS PRESENT: Sandy Bingham-Porter, Kathy Cartwright, Anne Cutright, Eric Davidson, Gale Kannmacher, Tom Leonard, Mosezell Magee, Matt Pederson, Doug Sloat, Janice Spraker, Linda Strange, Terry Tomer SENATORS ABSENT: Dan Carpenter, Lori Creek, Joe DeCaro, Adam Due, Zoraida Irizarry GUESTS: Sandra Barron, Beth Kastl President Kathy Cartwright called the meeting to order in the Schahrer Room in the University Union. Sandra Barron and Beth Kastl distributed definitions from the CMS Handbook pertaining to employee health/dental/vision benefits. There was discussion concerning permanent employees, seasonal employees, etc. Sandra Barron will do a follow up on questions. The November 12, 2003 President Council Notes were circulated during the meeting. We will be submitting a name to V. P. Cooley to serve on the Facilities, Planning and Management Screening Committee. Parking Committee: Eric Davidson reported that they met last week. Their discussions concerned reserved parking and the parking lot west of the Stadium. There will be a web-based survey conducted. Council on University Planning and Budgeting (CUPB): Sandy Bingham-Porter and Doug Sloat reported there were discussion on the NCA Accreditation, and the next meeting will be Friday, December 12. Comprehensive Technology Planning Committee (CTPC): Sandy Bingham-Porter reported they were working on documents. The November minutes were approved. Staff Senate elections will be coming in April 2004. Seats are open in: Non-Negotiated, Negotiated Facilities, AFSCME 981 – BSW, AFSCME 981-Clerical/Tech, and University Police. A nomination form will be included in future minutes for those interested. The next meeting is January 14, 2004, in the 1895 Room in the Union. Our meetings are always open and everyone is welcome to attend. If anyone has any questions or issues that they would like us to ask at our next meeting, please let one of the Senators know.
