OLD BUSINESS:
Committee Reports:
CUPB: Bingham-Porter reported that no budget information is available at this time. In the VPBA subcommittee meeting, Jeff Cooley gave informational update on the planning of a new Steam Plant.
Environmental Health and Safety Committee: Paladino stated that they have a meeting on Thursday, February 14, 2008.
University Union Advisory Committee: Irizarry reported that they had met and discussed the following:
Setting up a display in the Union walkway for their 50 th anniversary
Window replacement is complete in the walkway
Landscaping is to be accomplished during the Summer
Scheduled remodeling of the 1895 and Schahrer rooms
Progress is being made on a logo for their 50 th anniversary
The Bowling alley will be having a party on 2-21-08 at 8:00 pm for the 50 th anniversary.Applications are being accepted for the Senior Award.
AD Search: Bingham-Porter reported that they are starting on-campus interviews as of today (February 11, 2008). There are five candidates coming to campus.
Budget Director Search: Paladino stated that she has not had any information concerning the search.
NEW BUSINESS:
Parking issues-Leonard reported that he had a meeting with Lt. John Hatfill-UPD. Temporary parking for motorcycles will be set up adjacent to the Union.
Parking fees-Leonard suggested that the fee the employees pay for parking permits be set according to the employee income. This issue will be brought forward to the University Parking Committee if and when they meet.
Concern-Leonard has brought a concern to the Senate take-out container waste. They are not biodegradable. It was suggested that we invite Mark Hudson to our next meeting for discussion.
Staff Elections will be held April 23, 2008 in the Union (outside the Bookstore). Strange and Kolling will be working on this election. There are six seats that will be coming up for election. More information will be forth coming.
Next meeting will be held on March 17 th at 1:15 p.m. in the Schahrer Room.
