President Kathy Cartwright called the meeting to order in the Schahrer Room at 1:20 p.m.

Old Business:

Approval of November and December Minutes

Motion (Boyd/Davidson): Approve the minutes of November and December 2006. Motion carried by acclamation.

CUPB – Amyx restated the proposals for the reorganization of CUPB.

Motion (Cartwright/Carpenter): Staff Senate support the first proposal put forth by CUPB for reorganization. Motion carried by acclamation

University Union Focus Group – Tabled until February

Presidential Search Committee – Due and Amyx reported on the scheduled initial interviews in Champaign at the end of February. The committee will have access to candidate vitas around January 23rd and a list of candidates who will be contacted for reference checks will be made at a meeting on January 31st . More information will be available at the next meeting.

Meetings with the President – Tabled until February. Still waiting for more information.

Smoke Free Campus Discussion – A vote will take place at the February meeting. HERC will meet with AFSCME at February meeting.

New Business:

Preferred 2008/2009 University Holidays were forwarded to the President's Office.

Committee Reports: None. Tabled until February.

Next month's meeting will be held on February 12 th at 1:15 p.m. in the Schahrer Room.
