OLD BUSINESS:

CUPB: Kolling reported that Dr. Perry attended the last meeting and is reinstating the Parking Committee. He has given the committee instructions on what he wants done. The Parking Committee is to report their findings to him by the end of May. Steve Schrake updated CUPB on various projects that are on going. The issue of Security on Campus was discussed.

Parking Committee-Bingham-Porter reported that the committee will be sending out an electronic questionnaire to the entire campus and the community. Eastern has not had a parking fee increase since 1995.

Environmental Health and Safety Committee: Paladino stated that they had a meeting. Three more sirens will be added to the current alert system.

Tuition Committee-Green reported that the committee has not met yet.

AD Search: Bingham-Porter reported that the search is complete and the committee has turned in their recommendation to Dr. Nadler and Dr. Perry.

Budget Director Search: Paladino stated that they will be meeting this week.

Staff Elections will be held April 23, 2008 in the Union (outside the Bookstore). Strange stated that one person has returned their signed petition to her. Strange also ask Staff Senate members for help on the day of election.

NEW BUSINESS:

Staff Senate members will be touring the new Fine Arts Center in the near future.

Lobby Day in Springfield will be April 9 th . The bus will be leaving at 7:30 a.m. and returning around 4:00 p.m. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact Cay Kolling for additional information.

Senate term appointments?enators, Paul Weber and Tom Leonard have resigned from the Staff Senate. The Senate is seeking someone to take Weber position for the remainder of his term (one year). The Leonard term is complete and will be filled by election in April.

A short discussion was held on a completely smoke free campus. Everyone is encouraged to speak to Staff Senate members concerning this issue.

Civil Service Council invites the non-negotiated members of the Staff Senate to attend their next meeting, April 1, 2008 in the Effingham Room.

Next meeting will be held on April 14 th at 2:00 p.m. in the Schahrer Room.
