Staff Senate Minutes: October 9, 2006

President Kathy Cartwright called the meeting to order in the Schahrer Room at 1:15 p.m.

Old Business:

CUPB meeting report given by Amyx.  The CUPB is considering restructuring to include fewer members.  This could possibly reduce the Staff Senate representation by one seat.  Amyx will email the senators the current proposal from the CUPB subcommittee. 

Parking Committee report given by Amyx.  The regular University Parking Committee meetings have temporarily been put on hold due to the formation of a CUPB subcommittee to discuss parking issues and give recommendations.  A recommendation will be presented to CUPB during the November meeting.

Presidential Search Committee representatives from Staff Senate will be Sara Amyx and Adam Due.

Union Advisory Board report given by Dan Carpenter regarding the Rathskellar renovations and the new Cyber Lounge in 7th Street Underground.

No Union Focus Group report this month.

New Business:

There was discussion regarding whether to keep the officers meetings with the President.  Cartwright will be contacting the President’s Office to get these meeting set up.

Paperwork needs to be completed so that Paladino will be able to sign financial documents.

Next month forums for the spring semester will be discussed.

Next month’s meeting will be held on November 13 at 1:15 p.m. in the Schahrer Room.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:35 p.m.
