OLD BUSINESS:

President's Inauguration for Dr. William Perry will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. To go along with the President's Inauguration, the staff and faculty are hosting a speaker on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. The speaker will be John Cassis. Supervisors will be encouraged to allow their employees to attend both of these events.

Motion (Pederson/Boyd): Staff Senate to give up to $500.00 for refreshments for the speaker on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Motion carried by acclamation.

Tom Leonard asked about extended parking on campus for motorcycles. We will try to contact UPD for more information on this.

NEW BUSINESS:

Tom Leonard asked the Staff Senate if they would be willing to help with financial support for a speaker, Billy Mills, for Native American Heritage Month in November. Tom is to get more information to the Senate for a vote on this issue.

Committees:

Parking: Greg Boyd and Suzann Bennett will serve on this committee.

Parking appeals: Adrienne Paladino stated that there are about 20 appeals waiting for review.

CUPB: Sandy Bingham-Porter said the last meeting was the first of the academic year and organizational in content with the designation of the Executive Committee.

Environmental Health and Safety: Adrienne Paladino said that they have a meeting on Wednesday, October 10, 2007.

University Union Advisory: Brad Green said that they have had one meeting which was informational in content. There will be another meeting in November.

Search Committee for Athletic Director: Sandy Bingham-Porter will serve on this committee.

Next month's meeting will be held on November 12 th at 1:15 p.m. in the Schahrer Room.
