Terre Haute Station Ends Data Collection after Ten Years!

Cameron Craig, Geographer & Climatologist

After 5,256,000 data lines collected over the last 10 years (conditions recorded every minute), the Terre Haute, Indiana (EIU3) digital weather station closes due to change in land ownership. The station maintained by Cameron Craig and used by Indiana State University from 2001-2005 and then used as part of EIU WeatherCenter's Digital Station Network since 2005 provided data to NWS, NOAA, MESONET (CW1125), and Weather Underground. The station will be moved to west Charleston, Illinois this fall to start a new life collecting data for Eastern Illinois University for use in research and classroom instruction.

For those who have been using this station for their daily weather information in Terre Haute, we apologize for the inconvenience in closing the station. Thank you for your patronage over the last 10 years!
