WIM Officer Responsibilites
As stated in the bylaws

President:

The president shall coordinate the activities of the Board of Directors, serve as the chief executive office of the conference, conduct the annual business meeting, coordinate the annual conference, and have the general powers of supervision and management. (The president does not conduct a tour.)

Vice President:

The vice president shall perform the duties of the president in the event of the absense or disability of the president. He or she shall also assist the president, develop the election process and forward the election process to the publicity chairperson. He or she conducts the election of new officers, and arranges a meeting of new and old officers. (The vice president conducts a tour.)

Secretary:

The secretary shall keep a written record of the meetings of the Board of Directors, the annual Business Meeting, and the yearly conference. Also, he or she must send minutes to each officer and all college affiliated Family and Consumer Sciences units. The Secretary shall prepare, distribute, and collect evaluation sheets at the conference and forward the evaluation sheets to the next secretary for distribution to new and old members of the Board of Directors. The secretary also keeps records of office and handles correspondence as requested by the president. (The secretary conducts a tour.)

Treasurer:

The treasurer shall receive and have custody of all WIM funds, keep full and accurate receipts and disbursements, be responsible for financial reports, and send financial reports to Board of Directors and WIM members. He or she shall receive and record the registration fees and forms for the annual conference as well as present a budget for adoption by the Board of Directors at the conference-planning meeting. (The treasurer does not conduct a tour.)

Publicity Chairperson:

The publicity chairperson shall be responsible for publicizing the annual conference. He or she shall prepare and distribute conference information, registration forms, and election process papers to colleges in member States prior to conference. The publicity chairperson must also obtain and prepare the registration folders with conference materials for attendees. (The publicity chairperson conducts a tour.)

Social Chairperson:

The social chairperson is responsible for arranging networking, socializing exercises, entertainment, recreation and restaurant suggestions and directions, and Chicago maps for the conference. (The social chairpersion conducts a tour.)

Delegate-at-Large:

The delegate-at-large shall distribute stationary, handbooks, and bylaws to members of the Board of Directors. He or she shall communicate with WIM state colleges not being represented by an officer. The delegate-at-large distributes door prizes and the traveling attendance award. (The delegate-at-large conducts a tour.)

All Officers:

Every officer must attend all Board meetings, maintain record of responsibilites and activities of his or her office, assist with conference registration and events, present a summary of duties and evaluation to incoming officer, and be responsibile for any additional duties determined by the Board of Directors.

All Advisors:

Every advisor shall advise the officers, appoint persons to fill officer vacancies, and travel with touring group.

The Board of Directors reviews and clarifies duties at planning meeting.

Elections:

Individuals may choose to run for an officer position by completing an officer application, or representatives from each state may choose to nominate individuals from their state for an office. After nominations are complete, elections will be held. In the case that a state does not have a nominee, nominations will become open to any WIM state and will be taken from the floor. Nominees need approval from their advisor and need to fill out an officer application (forms are available at the conference.)
