Eastern Illinois
University
Academic
Challenge
The
Academic Challenge competition will take place in Spring
2019!
LOOK HERE FOR REGISTRATION BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2018
Update: Registration will be delayed a few days to
complete validation of the software.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME INCLUDING COACHES AND HOST
GUIDES, COMPETITION SCHEDULES, AND THE EXAM ARCHIVE.
A
FAVOR TO ASK: SPREAD THE WORD TO OTHER HIGH SCHOOLS IN YOUR AREA. MANY OF OUR EMAILS TO LAST YEAR’S COACHES
HAVE NOT ELICITED A RESPONSE.
Thanks to the UIUC
College of Engineering for creating the Academic Challenge competition and
operating it for about 40 years! The
operation of the competition will now be taken on by Eastern Illinois
University.
EIU will make its best
effort to maintain and improve the competition as we move forward. The 2019 registration fees will remain the
same as they were for the 2018 competition.
Currently, efforts are underway to start exam production, to create
software for registration and scoring, and to schedule regional and host site
competitions. We will update this site
as more information becomes available.
Thanks to all the
coaches, regional and sectional site hosts, and exam authors and reviewers that
responded to our email queries about interest in continuing the
competition. It was very helpful to have
the feedback for gaining the approval for us to hold the competition.
Note that the name
WYSE (World Youth in Science & Engineering) is no longer associated with
the Academic Challenge. That name
belongs to UIUC College of Engineering and they will continue to use that name
for their other outreach programs.
