Studies on Asia is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal sponsored by the Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA), a regional conference under the Association for Asian Studies—the world’s largest non-profit scholarly organization in the field with approximately 8,000 members worldwide. The journal, with over a half century-long history, is published twice a year (Fall and Spring) by Eastern Illinois University. Studies on Asia welcomes manuscripts on any and all aspects of Asia across time and place, including current and historical issues, pedagogy, and literature. Submissions of original English-language translations on and from Asia are welcome as well. (For such an example, please see the translation of Nobel Prize winner Gao Xianjian’s short play in the Spring 2005 issue of the journal.) Book reviews are also accepted; however, the Book Review Editor should be contacted in advance of submission.
