Charlie - Something that I learned was that Lewis and Clark were both in the army. The activity that I enjoyed the most was the timeline. I've never made a timeline before, and I really enjoyed it. Putting the dates in order was challenging and fun.
Clayton - One of my favorite facts about the Lewis and Clark Expedition was learning about Lewis' dog named Seaman! This was interesting because I like dogs. The activity that I really enjoyed was making the concept map about Lewis and Clark. This was cool because I like typing and picking out pictures to go with our facts.
Brooke - I really enjoyed learning about Sacagawea. I thought it was really neat when she recognized Beaverhead Rock. I can't imagine how happy she must have felt. One activity that I really liked was coloring in our maps. We colored in different areas such as the land that Thomas Jefferson bought and the territory that was unexplored!
Valerie - I really enjoyed learning about the many different animals that were discovered and seen on the expedition. I really enjoyed coloring the different pictures of Lewis and Clark and putting them on the biographies we made about them.
Linda - I loved learning about the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Working with this team of third graders was always really fun. I really think this team learned why this expedition was important in our history, and it shows in all of our team's hard work. What we realized was our nation may not be anything like it is today if we had not gone on this journey.
Mary - To me, the most impressive thing about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, besides the extensive travel throughout nearly impossible terrain, was the leadership demonstrated by the co-commanders of the expedition. Lewis and Clark are the truest example of loyalty and friendship. The trust that the men shared was an incredible force that made the trip possible.
Dawn -
The
Lewis and Clark Expedition really impressed me. The students really
seemed to benefit from the information of this expedition, it was hard
for them to think about traveling that far without cars or airplanes!
Both Lewis and Clark were extraordinary people and wonderful co-captains.
