The men of the Corps of Discovery were tired by August 8, 1805.  That afternoon Sacagawea gave the men a much needed lift, she recognized Beaver's Head Rock.  Sacagawea assured Lewis and Clark that they would find her people, the Shoshone's, not far from "Beaver's Head".  It was important for them to get to the Shoshone Camp because they had to trade for horses.
