1.  Why was Lincoln killed?  (Head Teacher:  Jennifer Houmes)

·        Where Lincoln was born

·        The different types of jobs that he had before he became President

·        When Lincoln lived

·        Who was in Lincoln’s family (brothers and sisters, wife, sons, etc.)

·        Who shot Lincoln

·        Where and why Lincoln was shot

·        What Lincoln was shot with

·        What happened to John Wilkes Booth after he shot Lincoln

2.  Slavery and what happened after the Civil War  (Head Teacher:  Julie Tuleja)

·        What slavery is

·        Who was involved in Slavery

·        Fredrick Douglas and how he was a slave before he became famous (read book about Fredrick Douglas).

·        Related their lives to how it would be if they were a slave and how they would feel to be a slave and how slavery would be now

·        Who could and could not vote and how the students felt about that (liked it or did not and why/why not)

·        Comparing life now and what life was like during slavery

·        Students viewed pictures of slave families and discussed their feelings toward the picture.

3.  Reconstruction  (Head Teacher:  Nicole Connors)

·        What was reconstruction

·        When reconstruction happened

·        Who helped during reconstruction

·        Why reconstruction happened

·        What the presidents did to help the country during reconstruction

·        Results of reconstruction

·        Relationships between their lives and their families

·        What Jim Crow Laws were and why we had them

·        What Race Riots were and why they happened

·        How they feel about segregation, and race riots

·        The Red Summer and the Race Riots

·        Where race riots happened

·        How Lincoln connected to segregation and Jim Crow laws

·        What African Americans had and how they got it
