Representative Rose
The students had the opportunity to listen to Representative Chapin Rose. Mr.Rose is a representative for the Charleston area. In addition to giving students a glimpse into the life of a representative, he shared many different stories about Abraham Lincoln. The students particularly enjoyed hearing the story about how Abe Lincoln jumped out the window to keep a bill from being passed. Mr. Rose answered various student questions about laws: how laws are passed, the number of laws in Illinois, the most recent law passed, the most unused law, and many more.
