Jim Thorpe was born in 1887 in Oklahoma Territory. He grew up
        in Native American tribes. The names of the tribes are the Sauk and
       Fox.

        The Thorpe family lived on a ranch but things did not grow well
       there.  Jim and his brother learned to farm and to ride ponies.  The
       brothers were best friends.  They were proud of their father who was
       the best athlete around.  Mr. Thorpe sent his boys to Indian
       reservation school.  Jim's brother died when Jim was still young.
