Jim Thorpe's Times and Culture
     Jim Thorpe went to Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. There he
      learned how to play football. However, in the classroom, the teachers
      did not treat the Native American children as nicely as the other
      students.
 

            Jim Thorpe went to Carlisle Institute in Pennsylvania at 16 years
           of age.  He played on the football team and the track team.  Many
                 people could see how good he was.
