When Abe was a boy...


*Abraham was born on February 12, 1809 in a one-room log cabin 
in Hodgenville, Kentucky
*Abraham had a sister named Sarah.
* Sarah and Abe went to school in a tiny, one room cabin.
* Abe loved writing words.  He practiced writing them using a stick in the dust.
* Abe's dad moved his famliiy to Indiana when Abe was a boy because 
he was upset that slavery was allowed in Kentucky.
*At Abe's childhood home his dad built a fire tokeep the wolves and panthers away!
*To build a cabin, Araham swung his ax alongside the big boys in an 
effort to cut down trees.
*Abe was so busy working he had no time for school!
