India

By Michael Hildebrandt

India is large country located between the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. India is named after one of it’s rivers, the Indus River. It is also one of the most populated countries in the world with over 1 Billion people. The country is also located near the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, which is located in Nepal. Every three years millions of Hindus visit the Ganges, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati rivers to bath, which is known as the Kumbh Mela festival. Many of India’s large rivers originate from glaciers, which form high in it’s mountain ranges. The western portion of India is covered by a large desert named the Jaisalmer Desert.
