Facts about Yao Ming!!


- At 7'6", Yao Ming is the tallest player in the NBA and one of the tallest men in the world.

- He played in the 2000 and the 2004 Olympics.

- Yao, at 17 years old, played for the Chinese Basketball Association on the Shanghai Sharks.

- Yao became the MVP of the CBA at age 20. 

- He helped lead the Sharks to a CBA title in 2001-02.

- He left the CBA holding four records: most dunks in a career, most blocks in a career, most blocks in a season, and most blocks in a game.  All four of those records still stand today.

- Yao became the first international player to be selected first overall for the NBA. 

- He was voted the starting center of the 2004 NBA All-Star game for two years in a row. 

- He was voted as a Western Conference All-Star in February 2005.
