Teaching students about the many accomplishments of Clara Barton is very important because she truly is a Freedom Hero. Clara Barton is most famous for founding the American Red Cross which still assists people today. She lived her life in constant service to others which is something that every student should be aware of. Known as the “Angel of the Battlefield,” Clara organized supply depots and later served as the first female nurse allowed on the battlefield. Throughout her much of her life she helped people in need by rushing to various hurricane, flood, famine, sickness and war emergencies.
