Lincoln Biography

    Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Kentucky on Feburuary 12, 2009. When he was young, he moved around the country with his family before finally moving to the state he is now famous for: Illinois. After being active in politics and even serving as a state legislator, Lincoln ran for president of the United States in 1860. As president, Lincoln would go on to be Commander in Chief of  United States (the northern states) through the duration of the American Civil War. After the war was won by  the northern states,  he continued to plan and to fight for the equality of not only African-Americans, but all people who called themselves Citizens of the United States.  Before he could fully accomplish these goals, Lincoln was shot and killed in April, 1865
