The 2005/6 Spring
semester has Sigma
Delta Pi very busy. We are throwing
ourselves into many activities and fundraising events. This year
we have been meetings very often on Thursday afternoon from 4:00pm
until 5:00pm
in the Foreign Language Seminar Room at Eastern Illinois University. We
have done a couple of fundraising events. On February 13th,
and 14th we were celebrating Valentine's
Day with the sale of candy and
beautiful carnations (with LASO) in the Southeast stairwell of Coleman
Hall. YUM! During Foreign Language
week March 6th -
10th we had a Piñata
competition. We had about 20 piñatas from students from
1101-1102-2202 and Upper Division classes. There was monetary awards
and other prizes. Also, in February 10th we had a movie night which was
a tremendous success. We watched an Aregntine movie from
7:00pm to 9:30pm. In April we will be working with the Spanish Club
at EIU to sponsor a few other activities. El
Dia de los Ninos! There will be
cartoons, music, arts & crafts and loads of fun for all ages. Watch
for more events. We are in the process of organizing an Abroad
Photo Night, Food
Festival, and so much more! |
