World Trade Center Collapse:
Observations from Ground Zero
Kevin A. Michols, PE, SE

Kevin performed as a volunteer structural engineer providing assistance to recovery teams at the World Trade Center site after the September 11 attacks. He will summarize some of his personal observations and experiences while on site through his presentation entitled, "World Trade Center Collapse - Observations from Ground Zero".

CTL is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering, testing, and materials technology firm that specializes in condition assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures and advancement of construction materials technology. Kevin has 22 years experience in structural performance evaluation, failure investigation, rehabilitation/retrofit design, and troubleshooting construction problems. Areas of significant experience include structural condition assessment, structural integrity evaluation, strengthening, concrete durability enhancement, and nondestructive testing.

Kevin is a licensed professional and structural engineer and is an active member of the American Concrete Institute, International Concrete Repair Institute, the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
