JEN'S FOOT, KOM OMBO AT NIGHT, AND ASWAN HIGH DAM
The first two pictures are of a girl in our group getting a design put on her foot with dye called a Henna tattoo. This was done by an artist that worked on the boat. The next three are beautiful pictures of Kom Ombo that night after dinner.
I woke up early the next morning because the boat launched at about 5:00. Our boat had a very rough shake to it when the engines were propelling it up the Nile. We arrived and docked later that morning in Aswan. The dirtiest boat I have ever seen pushed our boat into position. The tug boat was covered and full of pure garbage and trash, and I could smell it all the way on the top deck. I looked over to the city of Aswan and saw two window washers standing four stories in the air on a tiny edge of the window of a building. Pictures are below.
First stop this day was Aswan High and Low Dams. I have no pictures
of the Low Dam because the Egyptian government was paranoid about people
taking pictures and stealing their technology. Police and security
guards watch tour busses for tourists taking pictures on the low dam, and
if they catch them, they stop the bus and confiscate their cameras.
They did allow pictures on the High Dam, but did not allow any zoom lenses.
The same policy was enforced for zoom lenses as taking pictures on the
low dam. The dam was impressive, but I can not understand the picture
policy.
