LEWIS
AND CLARK RATIONALE
JEFFERSON HAD A DREAM FOR US -
SINCE WE COULDN'T TRAVEL BY CAR OR BUS
TO EXPAND OUR COUNTRY FAR WEST
- A WATER ROUTE TO THE PACIFIC WOULD BE BEST
LEWIS AND CLARK SET OUT ONE
DAY - INTO THE LAND FAR AWAY
TO FIND THE ROUTE WAS THEIR
MISSION - NEW FRUITS AND VEGETABLES WAS THEIR COMMISSION
NATIVE TRIBES THEY CAME ACROSS
- BUT ALL HOP WAS NOT LOST
SACAGAWEA WAS ONE OF THEIR
SOURCES - TO CROSS THE MOUNTAINS WITH SOME HORSES
THEY SAILED AWAY AND THEN CAME
BACK - WITH ALL OF THEIR MEN STILL INTACT
THEIR EXPEDITION WAS SURELY
WINNING - BECAUSE WHEN THEY DID COME BACK, THEY WERE GRINNING
LEWIS AND CLARK IS IMPORTANT
TO OUR HISTORY - BECAUSE THE LAND WAS NO LONGER A MYSTERY
THE LAND EXPANDED AND OUR
COUNTRY IS WHAT IT IS TODAY
BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE MEN WHO
LED THE WAY
