About AGORA

The Agora (/ˈæɡərə/; Ancient Greek: Ἀγορά Agorá) was a central spot in ancient Greek city-states. The literal meaning of the word is "gathering place" or "assembly". The agora was the center of athletic, artistic, spiritual and political life of the city.

AGORA is an online journal of news, opinion, and creative expression written and produced by members of the English Department of Eastern Illinois University. Opinions expressed are exclusively those of the authors and do not reflect official policies of Eastern Illinois University or the EIU English Department. Authors retain copyright in all cases.
