This
is Shinichi Suzuki. He was born in 1898 and lived
till he was 99 in 1998. This man is know for his
way with the violin and for his musical education of
very young students.
Through
our global hero unit we learned all about Shinichi
Suzuki, Japan and the Violin. On the following

1888 Suzuki’s father, Masakichi Suzuki, ran a workshop that made traditional Japanese stringed instruments. Fascinated with the violin, he made his first one in 1888.
In the early 1900's he owned the first violin factory in Japan, which was also the largest in the world

1915 Suzuki learns to play violin
1920 Suzuki goes to Germany and studies with Karl Klingler he also marries Waltraud Prange
1928 Suzuki returns to Japan and forms the Suzuki Quartet
with his three brothers and Shinichi Suzuki becomes a violin teacher
1946 Suzuki went to Matsumoto where he helped start a music school, eventually named the Talent Education Research Institute
1983 International Suzuki Association (ISA) was founded and strives to encourage, promote, enlarge, and coordinate the Suzuki Method throughout the world.
