William Lloyd Garrison's Newspaper
which spoke out against the practice of slavery.
The Liberator was a paper
William Lloyd Garrison wrote for 35 years to inform people about
slavery.
In the 1800s newspapers were the best way to
tell as many people as possible about slavery and give the people
involved in fighting slavery a way to connect.
The Liberator was a lot like a web log today
(But much slower!)
William Lloyd Garrison published some of the
most important people of the day and ran over 1,800 issues over
35 years. He never missed a single issue.
The Liberator publication ended in 1865 with
the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
