In 1996 Marilyn
Burns won the Glenn Gilbert Award for her influence on mathematics education.
Then in 1997 she won the Louise Hay Award, which is given each year to
a math teacher by the Association for Women in Mathematics. She is
the creator of Math Solutions which creates teacher resource materials
and provides workshops for teacher. Marilyn formed the Marilyn Burns
Education Associates in 1984 which is a team of teachers working to develop
math ideas through workshops and courses for in-service teachers.
