Contributions

Lance Armstrong has had many contributions in his lifetime.  The two major contributions that we want to talk about is his recent ride in the Tour of Hope and his cancer foundation called the Cycle of Hope.

Tour of Hope
Lance lead the tour of hope cycling race on October 11, 2003.  The race started in Los Angeles and extended 3,200 miles across the United States.  Lance wanted to do this so that he could show his support to the cancer community.  He teamed up with Bristol-Myers Squibb, which was the company that provided Lance with the medicine that helped him overcome his cancer.

Cycle of Hope
The cycle of hope is a foundation that was started by Lance Armstrong to help people who have cancer and their families.  This foundation helps to fund scientific research to better detect and, eventually cure cancer.  He has also teamed up with Bristol-Myers Squibb to help educate people on the importance of early cancer detection, how to get proper treatment, and of course hope.
