For our mini field trip our team went to see Dr.
Keith Andrew. He showed us many things that Lance has to do in a
race. He even brought in a bike that Lance could possibly use in
a race. One of the things that Lance would need a lot of is water.
In the picture above you can see a water bottle that may be used during
a long race like the Tour De France. Our team learned many things
from Dr. Keith Andrew about the races that Lance has competed in and the
strength, durability, dedication and training it takes to be able
to complete such a vigorous race. We also learned about the gears
on the bike and that lance also keeps an extra tire and an air pump on
his bike in case he gets a flat along the way. Most of all we learned
about his perseverance to never give up even when he was diagnosed with
cancer. We thank Dr. Keith Andrew for reinforcing what Lance said
"I used to ride my bike to make a living. Now I just want to live
so that I can ride".
