On November 4, 2005, our team
traveled with the Jacques Cousteau Team to
the EIU pool to visit Dr. Darding and Mr. Padovan. They showed us their
diving
equipment, told us how it works, and let us watch them use it.
They
also talked about the different things that they have seen while diving
and
even showed us some shells that the got from the ocean. We had a
great
time. Thanks Dr. Darding and Mr. Padovan!!!
Here are some pictures from our trip:
Dr. Darding shows the girls
how
to connect the mask to the oxygen tank.
Mr. Padovan wore his wet suit.
Dr. Darding shows us his
special
life vest that can fill with air or release it to make a diver move up and down in
the
water.
Mr. Padovan talks about sea
shells
and other sea creatures that he has seen while diving.
Dr. Darding and Mr. Padovan
were
really good at answering our questions.
Mr. Padovan modeled how to
use
the equipment in the water,
The boys were really
interested
in how the vacuum cleaned the pool.
We were really good listeners!
We also asked lots of
questions! Here are the Carson and
Cousteau
teams taking a last picture with the divers.
